55 gallon Stainless steel still

Postby jasons85gt » Tue Jan 08, 2013 7:44 pm

I have 2 stainless steel drums from my camp, and I want to turn one into a still, I did a search on here and couldn't find any plans on making a drum into a still. Any information would be greatly appreciated.! Any ideas on what I could do with the second drum?

ole boys wife third cousins step pa friend would lay it on the side an put a 13 inch hole in midle add a colar an put a 1 1/2 drain plug. he would make a cradle that you can slide a hp pipe burner in an out.
he would make sure that pipe locks in he couldnt nock it lose if he triped on the the gas line an he would make sure the gas tank is secure. that cradel he would make could also be good for wood if need be

so im tole

i aint never made no likker an aint gona in the future

Think of it like this, hobby airplanes are like 1/100th the size of real airplance, hobby stills should be in the 5 to 15 gallon range. Get a 15.5 gallon keg and use the barrel to recycle your cooling water or as a flake stand.

ok I was just going to use the drum because I have it. Wasn't going to make much Like 10 gallons every year. Wasn't open a illegal operation or anything lol.

a 15 gal. keg /milk can will make more than that in a year, hell i had a 12qt. stock pot and made enough for me and my very close friends, it might take a little work but it's possible

I can make more than I can drink using a 2 gallon boiler to distill experimental recipes... If I used a barrel I'd be filling my swimming pool with distilled spirits... :lolno:
